Sorry, terrible attempt at making the title of this post multi-levelled, but it was important that I at least tried, because that is what this girl deserves. Tavi Gevinson, is the 13 (at the time) wunderkind who sprang into the industry with oversized pink bows and a riot grrrl attitude towards all thing fash-un, now has one of the most read industry blog in the world and cites among her friends (and fans) Laura and Kate Mulleavy of Rodarte and Marc Jacobs. And deservedly. At the now tender age of 15 she has the ability to articulate the way in which Generation Y (and most of Gen-X too) are navigating the new media landscape in all its excitement and follies. She discusses the disappearance of subcultures at conferences, has casual chats about fashion gurus with Jefferson Hack, and more importantly brings an intelligent perspective to the (for the most part) banal world of fashion blogging. I do believe that this website will be half original content-half Tavi fandom, and I'm OK with that. Her latest post? "Fun isn't hard when you've got a library card." Perfect. Check out the post here and have a look at her eloquently articulating our cultural landscape at the Generation Next forum below:
