My opinion is torn regarding the advent of video in fashion. I can't decide whether it's taking away from the beauty and perfect construction of every still image in a shoot (now stills from the video are often used in their place) or whether it is a beautiful way of providing more insight and further atmosphere to the shoot as a whole. At least our post modern Generation Y need for more-more-more information is being satisfied...
It is hard to argue however, when there are a myriad photographers producing both beautiful still work and beautiful stand-alone video work. Garth Badger is one such photographer in New Zealand, who arguably pioneered the trend over here with his work for various magazines and brands.
He got together with Aussie babe Caitlin Lomax and Greta Van der Star and filmed a little emotional journey about (I assume) a meandering, lost soul, walking the sand dunes trying to discover herself, in designer clothes no less.
