New York writer Marissa Meltzer is an iconic figure to me. I first heard about this lady through a book she penned in the late nineties: How Sassy Magazine Changed My Life. Since then she has written a book about the nineties riot grrrl revolution in alternative music, contributed various, opinionated articles to publications worldwide and launched a D.I.Y zine called First Kiss, dedicated to honest and intimate accounts of debut pashes. 
Being a unique character, devoid of homogenization and rife with outlandish opinions, one struggles to gain an insight into the lady through Wikipedia pages of Amazon descriptions of her novels.
