CONFIRMATION

— Posted on 02.03.2011

I'm an absolute child of the nineties. The good, the bad, the ugly, it was all AWESOME to me and will always hold a nostalgic place in my heart. Of late, viewings of Singles, flannel shirts and coloured hair have become prevalent again, leading me to believe both that A) I'm not alone and B) the time is now for a re-visit. A far more credible source than I agrees. Have a listen to NPR's discussion about the importance of the nineties HERE and watch the videos and hear the songs HERE.

The way in which they describe Grunge as the end of subculture is pretty interesting too, and I guess gives further food for thought regarding what we invest in culturally these days.
