I was shocked and amazed by the trailer for this gem that I discovered during the previews before Prometheus. I think ‘Abraham Lincoln, your Dad’ would have made more sense than the actual title of this film. No need to speculate on historical accuracy, because I want it to be true. I want historians worldwide to be going ‘oh, you didn’t know? Sorry, we just didn’t think it was that relevant. Yes, Abraham was a well-known vampire hunter.’ Tim Burton produced the film and Johnny Depp isn’t in it, which makes everyone feel a bit weird. Luckily that oddity is nicely overshadowed by the fact that a script has been written in which a US President saves the world from blood-suckers. Probably the White House’s idea?
