So Arbitrage includes Richard Gere, Eva Green, Susan Sarandon and Brit Marling. Wowzer! The trailer feels like a Pretty Woman sequel. Julia Roberts has aged into Susan Sarandon (I feel like this could be a Hollywood hologram conspiracy) and with his wife older and no longer talking that sexy street talk, Richard Gere has gone back to his money-lovin’ ways. He stupidly fired his amazing chauffeur Wiley though. If he’d kept him on I feel like he might have gotten into less car trouble. Remember how Wiley saved him from those thugs at Julia Robert’s local? Yeh. This film actually looks really good, and I prefer old Julia Roberts (Susan Sarandon) to the young Julia Roberts, because she makes me feel less aware of how short my legs are. Plus, Tim Roth plays the detective and I always feel like the job will get done by kooky means whenever he’s chosen for a role, so Richard Gere might not come out as the knight in a shining white limo this time. I’m keen to see it. Critics went relatively gooey over it at Sundance. So, we should probably care. Oh, also don’t be embarrassed, I didn’t know either. The word Arbitrage means ‘the simultaneous purchase and sale of an asset in order to profit from a difference in the price.’ Naughty Richard Gere.
